horror film

As I have said countless times in the past, I have coulrophobia – AKA a fear of clowns – and with the reboot of It coming out this year, it is safe to say that I am going to be terrified in the theater. Hell, these past 12 months have given us films like 31, Clowntown and Circus Of The Dead showing us that the genre of the clown[s] is definitely coming! Don’t get me wrong though, there actually have been clown themed movies that I actually enjoyed like Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and even the original TV movie of It, but this is because films like Killer Klowns are extremely cheesy, and have that “fun and quirky quality” to them. [Though, if I am being honest, “It” did scar me as a young child]

Enter Clowntergeist – and yes, that is the film’s actual title – 2017’s first horror film featuring a killer clown. More specifically, this is a horror movie about a clown that is possessed by a demon and stalks around a small town; leaving messages [dates and times] on balloons in order to tell his victims exactly the moment when he will kill them. Watching the trailer, Clowntergeist seems to be a mix of The Ring, It, and even a shade of Poltergeist! It looks, as far as  design, completely ridiculous and possibly terrible. But with the right friends, it also looks like it could be fun; being a film that is not meant to be taken overly seriously.

[the villain of CLOWNTERGEIST]

Clowntergeist follows Emma, a college student who, like me, has a crippling fear of clowns. She is forced to come face to face with her worst fear when an evil spirit in the body of a clown is summoned and is terrorizing the town she calls home. One by one Emma and her friends receive a balloon with the exact time and date of when this clown will appear to kill them written on it. After receiving her balloon, Emma comes to realize that she has only two days left to live, and must fight against the clock to find a way to survive..and stop the Clowntergeist [who, according to IMDb, is named “Ribcage The Clown“] once and for all! Does this sound like something you would be interested in watching? While there may not be an official release date yet, you should still check out the trailer below!

Between the gore and the greasepaint, Clowntergeist looks like a terrible, yet fun horror film. I find myself genuinely curious to find out how Emma kills this haunted circus freak! [whoops! wrong killer klown!]

Insidious Chapter 3’s new poster shows us how we’re going to die?

insidious3teasInsidious and it’s sequel are films that I actually enjoyed, unlike most people. [It may have something to do with me being a James Wan/Leigh Whannell fan though] However, with a third “chapter” coming this summer, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. As it turns out, this “darkest, newest chapter” is a prequel, and is set before the events of The Lambert family, [which the first two films followed] where we’re going to be supposedly first introduced to Ellise Rainer; who as we all know – has super psychic abilities..or something. I don’t know, I lost track after the second film..

While Focus FeaturesInsidious Chapter 3 trailer leaked yesterday, it has since been taken off the internet and replaced with a newer “trailer teaser” [which is posted at the end] and an official poster! The trailer releases officially sometime today – probably while I’m at work – so until then, you can at least look at this awesome, and newer poster that claims to be showing you to your death!

[good thing I’m not a prepubescent girl, am I right?]

The only thing now is to wait for the trailer to drop, which could be at any time. I’m just hoping that by showing us a prequel, James Wan and Leigh Whannell show us more about this world they’ve created, and go Further into the story-telling.. [yes, that pun was fully intentional]

“In this chilling prequel, set before the haunting of The Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier had reluctantly agreed to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity..”

Be sure to check out the teaser trailer below, and to keep an eye open for the actual full length trailer – releasing today! warrenisweird’s top 05 SEXIEST female killers in horror

Imagine for a minute that you’re watching a horror film [like there’s any other kind you’d be watching] and you can’t help but notice that the killer is a girl .. now, imagine that the female killer may not be justified in her ways, but for some reason, you find her attractive. Does that pose a problem? or does her being “evil” make her even hotter?

In today’s post, I’m going to share five of my personal favorite female killers that I find attractive. Whether or not you agree, is up to you. Please be aware that the idea behind this post is for just for fun, and is not meant to be sexist in any sort of way. Also, like with my usual lists, the following is in no particular order. Start looking at some horror babes with me, right after the jump!

Mary Mason: American Mary

One of my more favorite femme fatales, Mary is one person I wouldn’t want to mess around with. With expert surgical skills, she knows the human body almost too well, that alone could earn her a spot on this list!

actress: Katharine Isabelle

Marie: High Tension

High Tension is an interesting french film that follows two college friends, Marie and Alexa, who encounter some trouble [and some major blood] while they are on vacation at Alexa‘s parents’ country home.  The film is insanely brutal, but the ending is where it’s truly one for the books! I’m not always one for short hair, but with Marie, it works beautifully.

actress: Cecile de France

Baby Firefly: The Devil’s Rejects

Say what you will, but I’ve got this weird thing for Baby in this movie. I’m pretty sure it’s her playful-like behavior [which can get annoying], but there’s also the fact of her ripped jeans. She also has this evil, yet maniacal laugh, which is a definite plus!

actress: Sherri Moon Zombie

Jennifer HillsI Spit On Your Grave [2010]

Though this may be in bad taste, considering [in the movie] she gets bruised, beaten, raped, and then left for dead; but something about a vengeful writer just makes the world a better place.

actress: Sarah Butler

Debra Morgan: Dexter

while technically from a show, it took me until Dexter to appreciate the actress this time around, even though she has been in horror movies such as The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. As seen in the promo art above, how could you not like her? her outfit [and that knife!] just adds to the hot coming off of this horror babe!

actress: Jennifer Carpenter

now that’s a zom-babe.

The thing I’ve learned through writing movie lists is that there are obviously so many other choices I could have picked, but I have to narrow it down to only five. Who would you choose if you were to pick five female killers from horror movies [current or classic films!] who would you choose? Let me know in a comment on here, or over on Facebook:
